Throughout your lifetime, how long have you been working out for and what do you enjoy most about fitness?
UM, Never. I never worked out. I always said I would start tomorrow, and every now and again I would start, but it wouldn’t last. I always wanted fitness to be a part of my life, but I was always too tired, or too busy but then I stopped making excuses and decided to start doing something for myself. Since training at K.Shan Performance, what have you learned the most about fitness as well as about yourself?
It sounds so corny saying it out loud, but I have learned that I CAN, I can push myself, I can do the work, I can succeed in my journey to lose weight and be healthier. I feel better physically and mentally, and I feel excited when I accomplish even the smallest goals. I actually can say I enjoy working out, I never thought I would say that and when I miss a day, I actually feel like I missed out on something. What do you like most about the workouts? And what is your favorite exercise?
The cooldown? Does that count? Haha. I don’t know if I have a favorite. I can tell you that my least favorites are anything that involve pushups, or those God awful slides haha. I like the feeling I have once I complete a workout. I think the huge difference for me was starting K.Shan. Maybe I could have done it somewhere else, but I never did. And when I first started K.Shan I thought eh maybe I will try it for a month and then find some motivation to do it on my own. But my motivation is at the gym, from the encouraging people that I have encountered, to the smiling faces of both Kyle and Drew, to the push that they give when I need it most. I love the atmosphere at K.Shan and I look forward to my workouts there. What would you recommend to someone looking to start training?
This feels weird to answer, since this is all new to me and I hardly feel like I can motivate anyone to work out, but JUST DO IT. Honestly. Just Start. Push yourself even on days when you don’t feel like it. Maybe the journey will scare you, but it can also be exciting once you start noticing the changes.
