July Member of the Month - Casey S.
Congratulations to our July Member of the Month, Casey! Casey has been a woman on a mission ever since joining here in October of 2017. Being a former college athlete, Casey has gotten herself back into the mentality of training with a purpose. She has consistently been showing up at all hours of the day, whether for a 6 am class, Mid Day Burn, or in the evenings after work, always carrying a smile that is contagious to others around her. We are extremely proud of Casey and her accomplishments and we know that she will continue to put her strongest efforts forward so that she can continue to be the best version of herself. Awesome job Casey, keep at it!
Throughout your lifetime, how long have you been working out for and what do you enjoy most about fitness?
Growing up I was always active through playing sports and I was in my best shape during college when I played lacrosse for Lafayette. In recent years my workout routine has been very inconsistent and unproductive. I joined KSP last October and the past 9 months have been my longest run for exercising consistently. I think what I enjoy the most is the feeling of accomplishment I get after each work out. I'm also enjoying the results I've seen - I feel stronger, I've lost more weight than I thought I could, and it's helped me build my confidence.
Since training at K.Shan Performance, what have you learned the most about fitness as well as about yourself?
I've learned a lot of the basics in regards to how to do the different exercises, and more importantly how to do them the right way. Since starting at KSP I've learned that I can wake up for a 6am class, I can go work out on my lunch hour, and I can find the time to workout (almost) every day of the week. It feels good to be in an athletic mindset again.
What do you like most about the workouts? And what is your favorite exercise?
I like the variety in exercises each day. When I look at the screen there will always be some that I know will be really challenging and others that I am excited about. Recently, I've really enjoyed the mid-day burn classes and some of my favorites during the regular sessions are the ropes and sand ball squat slams. What would you recommend to someone looking to start training?
I would say go for it. Getting started is the hardest part and working out can sometimes feel like a chore, but that feeling doesn't last forever. Now that I'm in a good routine I prioritize working out and it has become something I look forward to every day.
