November Member of the Month-Lisa K.

This months well earned Member of the Month Recognition goes out to Lisa K! The amount of progression Lisa has made since Day 1 is truly remarkable. The beginning stages are always the most difficult to endure and get past. Lisa knew how important it was to make her health a priority and that is exactly what she did. From her first challenge week, to the last one we just completed, Lisa's numbers were truly incredible in which she increased her backward sled pulls by 200 lbs. and her deadlift has gone up over 100 lbs over this time period. Lisa has

stuck to the plan and has accomplished amazing things in such a short period of time, we are happy to have you with us as you learn and grow in to your healthy lifestyle change!

Throughout your lifetime, how long have you been working out for and what do you enjoy most about fitness?

Honestly I have never really worked out where I could say I actually have been committed and enjoyed fitness.I would join a gym and start going only to become bored and quit.I never felt as though I knew enough to use the machines at a gym and always found myself on the treadmill and sick of it within a few weeks. Then I would join another gym and repeat the pattern. That is until my 40th year when I found K.Shan Performance and never looked back! I can now answer this question about what I enjoy most about fitness. The best thing I love about fitness and working out is how I feel after my hour in the gym.I have more energy and I no longer just go home and sit on the couch because I feel tired.

Since training at K. Shan Performance what have you learned the most about fitness as well as yourself?

I have learned that fitness is both physical and mental. If you go into class and are looking at an exercise and saying “I can’t do that it is too hard”, then you won’t give it 100%.I have had many times where I have walked into class and saw the exercises we were doing and wanted to turn around and leave. But what I have learned about myself is that saying “I can’t” was in my vocabulary way too many times. Now I tell myself “I can do this” and you know what I do.And that feeling of pushing myself is the mental part of fitness that I have now learned to conquer.I have learned that the only way to see the results is to never say “I can’t do this”.And always remind myself where I was in the beginning of my journey and how far I have come.

What do you like most about the work outs? And what is your favorite exercise?

I like that the work outs can be tailored for any level of fitness that someone is at.Kyle always demonstrates each exercise with different ways to complete them depending on where you are in your fitness journey.I love that whether you are a beginner or a seasoned athlete you will always feel that the work out was challenging.

My favorite exercise is ball passes.

What would you recommend to someone looking to start training?

If you are looking for a place that you can feel comfortable at any level then K. Shan Performance is worth trying out.You will definitely not be disappointed in your decision to join us.You will meet people who are there for the same reasons as you.And you will always be encouraged by Kyle and the other members. All you have to do is walk through the door and remember you CAN do this. You will find strength both physically and mentally. And you will see the results by putting in the effort and never giving up on yourself.Do this for you! You won’t regret it.

I just want to add that Kyle is an excellent trainer. He will encourage and push you from the moment you walk in the door.He will believe in you.I have never regretted my decision to join K. Shan. For once in my life I can say I am strong and that I will no longer give up on myself. That I can push myself to do more than I did last week, and that my weaknesses have become my strengths.Join us and become the best you!
